Benefit set to assist Huffmans medical expenses
A benefit for Boomer Huffman of Hammond will be at noon Saturday Jim and Deb Jents property east of Sullivan.
Proceeds will go to help Huffman with the medical expenses he has incurred following a motorcycle accident June 11 on the Bement blacktop. He has been released from the hospital where he was treated for a broken neck and back, four broken ribs, broken collarbone, a punctured lung and kidney, a damaged knee and a sprained ankle. The accident was the result of mechanical failure.
The benefit events will include a bike show, bike rodeo, horseshoe tournament, a silent auction and entertainment by a DJ and the Strutter band. Games and raffles will be held throughout the day.
After turning east off the curve by the New Life Tabernacle Church, there will be a sign to the site that has previously hosted the Flatlander Anniver-sary parties. Tent camping will be available.
