DISCUSSION:  Why did an Army Lieutenant have to use his cell phone to call his base to gain use of the Navy guns during the invasion of Grenada in the 80ís?

11/29/07 usm It is my understanding that the radios between the Army and Navy was not compatible.  The radios were made by more than one company and the frequency were off just enough to prevent a good line of communication.  It was later reported that this problem has been fixed by standardizing the signals.
