Lighten up Photo by R.R. Best Kim Harris, a Sullivan Electric Department employee, guides the removal of a telephone pole from Route 121 just west of West Street in Sullivan following an accident about 6:40 p.m. May 2. High winds blew the pole onto the highway in front of a pickup truck driven by Cory Kock, 33, of Roanoke. The truck was pulling a boat and was unable to stop in time to prevent hitting the pole as it was lying on the roadway. He was not injured. Sullivan police officers Nikki Wickline and Brandon Beckwith responded to the scene.
